Tips for a better document
- Put the due date and the payment details on the first page so the client does not have to look for them.
- Describe each line in terms the client recognises, such as the project name and the month, so it matches their records.
- Use a numbering scheme that never repeats, for example a prefix and the year, then the next number.
- Send the invoice as soon as the work or milestone is done, and say when payment is due.
Questions
What should an invoice include?
Your business name and address, your tax registration number if you have one, a unique invoice number, the issue and due dates, the client's details, a description of what you are billing for, the amounts and any tax, the total due and how to pay.
Is this a GST tax invoice?
The template prints your GSTIN, the tax name and rate, and a tax line in the totals. Whether an invoice counts as a tax invoice depends on it carrying every detail the law requires for your registration, so confirm the required fields with your accountant before you rely on it.
Can I hide the discount and tax columns?
Yes. If you do not use a discount or tax on an invoice, those columns are left out automatically, so a simple invoice stays simple.
Can I collect payments from my clients through PrioDraft?
Not yet. You can create invoices with your own payment details on them, and your clients pay you directly.
